DEPARTMENT PROFILE

The Department of Hindi was established in 1965, with the following faculty members. Prof. Pushpa Algudkar, Prof. Mukta Patil and Dr. V.H. Kosagi.  After their tenure Prof. D.F. Tutegar, Prof. Rajshekar Peddi and Dr. V.G. Parute came from our sister institution.  At present Dr. V.G. Parute is  the HOD  of the  Hindi Department.  Guest Lecturers, Prof. Ushadevi Patil and Prof. Kavita Thakur are working in the department at present.   Now Prof. Ushadevi Patil is transfered to our sister institution. Prof. Sushma kulkarni joined the same post.Hindi Language is tought for B.A., B.Sc., B.Com and B.B.A classes  and also optional component. Many students have opted Hindi as their optional subject. Total strength is 270 for the academic year 2019-2020. Student strength for the present year (2020-21) is 284.The members of the faculty have been able to inculcate the rich heritage of Hindi Literature and have contributed immensely to the Hindi Department for its growth.  Most of our students have pursued higher education such as M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., B.Ed and M.Ed and have taken teaching as their profession and they are well settled in reputed institutions.The students of our Department participate in Inter-collegiate Youth Festival. Every year our department organizes poets  meet and our Department  celebrates “Vishwa Hindi Divas” in the month of January by inviting  eminent  speakers. Special lecturers and  Teacher exchange programmes are also arranged in the Department.The staff has taken keen interest in developing the communication skills to students. Staff has put heart and soul into the teaching component of the language and so  the result of the Department is cent-percent.
